For 5 generations, winegrowing has been handed down from father to son.
It all began at the end of the 19th century with Emile Lafouge. His sons, Paul and Georges, succeeded him, each with their own vineyard.

In 1955, Joseph LAFOUGE, Georges' son, merged his father's and uncle's vineyards when he established his own business. He also passed on his passion for wine to his son, Dominique.

In 1982, Dominique founded a vineyard in his own name.
Father and son decided to merge in 1995. This was the birth of the Joseph LAFOUGE & Fils estate.
In 2022, Alexandre CLAIR, Dominique's cousin, took over the reins before succeeding him in 2024.
